New Delhi: The Centre on Tuesday appointed Odisha-cadre IAS officer Vir Vikram Yadav as the Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation under the Ministry of Civil Aviation.The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) cleared the appointment of Yadav, a 1996-batch IAS officer. His appointment will be in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. He is currently Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.Yadav will replace Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, who has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.In another development, Odisha-cadre IAS officer Vishal Gagan has been appointed as Secretary of the Central Information Commission under the Department of Personnel and Training. The 1998-batch IAS officer will hold the post in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
