Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi performed his Self Enumeration at his official residence today, setting a personal example for citizens ahead of the nationwide census exercise.In a message issued on the occasion, the Chief Minister highlighted the commencement of the first phase of Census 2027 — the House Listing and Housing Census 2026 — being conducted jointly by the Census Directorate of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Odisha and the state’s Revenue and Disaster Management Department.The field enumeration in this first phase will begin on April 16, 2026, and continue till May 15 across all 30 districts of Odisha. Trained enumerators and supervisors will visit every household to collect data door-to-door Prior to the field visits, the Self Enumeration window is open from April 1 to midnight of April 15, 2026. Citizens can conveniently submit their own information online through the official portal at https://se.census.gov.in CM Majhi appealed to the people of Odisha: “If you have not yet provided your data, please do so through this portal and cooperate in the census. I have also completed my Self Enumeration. You should do it too.”He underlined that the data collected during the census is extremely important for planning and implementation of development programmes for the state and the country. The Chief Minister assured that the Odisha Government has completed all necessary preparations for the smooth conduct of this national exercise.He requested full public cooperation when enumerators visit homes from April 16 onwards and urged citizens to provide accurate information. “On behalf of the Odisha Government, I earnestly appeal for your sincere contribution to the success of this national programme,” he added.
