Odisha Vigilance Arrests Ex-Secretary for Embezzling Rs 19.80 Lakh in Crop Insurance Scam

Odisha Vigilance arrested Subal Kumar Sahu today for crop insurance embezzlement amounting to Rs 19,80,255.

Sahu served as Ex-Secretary of Dahunda Service Co-operative Society under Bhogarai Block in Balasore district before authorities dismissed him from service. He faces charges of misappropriating government funds during the financial year 2014-15.Sahu manipulated official records and extended crop insurance benefits to ineligible members of the society. Odisha Vigilance officials conducted a thorough probe and arrested him today. They forwarded him to the court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore. Investigators registered Balasore Vigilance PS Case No 03/2026 under Section 13(2) read with 13(1)(a) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
