Angul: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths apprehended a senior revenue assistant of Athamallick Tahasil in Angul district for taking a bribe of Rs 20,000. The senior revenue assistant has been identified as Satya Priya Nayak. He was nabbed by the Odisha Vigilance for taking Rs 20,000 for partition of land on Friday. The SRA demanded Rs20,000/- from a Complainant for processing application for partition of the paternal land amongst sons and for facilitating issuance of separate RORs between the shareholders. The family members had been requesting accused Nayak to initiate the application. But, he did not process the same and demanded bribe Rs 20,000/-. On this, they reported the matter to Vigilance authorities, explaining the harassment by accused Sri Nayak, SRA. Following this, the Vigilance sleuths nabbed accused Sri Nayak today infront of SBI ATM at SBI main Branch Athamallick, while the accused was about to deposit the said bribe amount in his account through ATM machine after receipt of the same from completed. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Nayak, SRA from DA angle. In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS case no 7/2025 , U/s 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Nayak, SRA, Tahasil Office, Athmallick.
