Jajpur: One person died while over 200 others were taken ill due to diarrhea outbreak in Vyasanagar, Korai, Dharmasala, and Danagadi area of Jajpur district. According to Jajpur CDMO Prakash Chandra Bal, the deceased person is a 34-year-old man Sanat Patra, a resident of Mayurbhanj district. He was reportedly working as a contract worker and was admitted to Danagadi Community Health Centre (CHC) on Tuesday after he suffered from diarrhea. All the sick persons are undergoing treatment at their respective local hospitals, while efforts by the health department have started to disinfect water bodies in the affected areas, the CDMO said. While it is not yet to known what caused the sudden outbreak of diarrhea and vomiting, medical experts suspects food poisoning is the reason of the outbreak.
