Bhubaneswar, 25/7: Today, i.e., on 25.07.2025, a short while ago, Sri Sourav Tripathy, Junior Revenue Assistant (JRA), Special Certificate Section, O/o Sub-Collector, Bhubaneswar has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance *while demanding and taking bribe of Rs. 30,000/- from a Complainant for processing the file in a Certificate Case pending since long*. Despite several requests made by complt, Sri Tripathy was demanding bribe Rs 30,000/- to initiate the file. Finding no other way, the complt reported the matter to Vigilance authorities. Following this, a Vigilance team nabbed Sri Tripathy today, *while taking bribe Rs 30,000/- from the complt*. *The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Sri Tripathy and seized*. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Tripathy, JRA from DA angle.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No. 17 dtd. 24.07.2025 u/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Tripathy, JRA. Detailed report follows.
