Nayagarh: Six people were critically injured in a powerful explosion during firecracker manufacturing in the Nuagaon police station area of Odisha’s Nayagarh district Friday.Police and fire services personnel rushed to the spot, rescued the injured and admitted them to the Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital. The injured include a minor, Amit Sethi, 15, of Gereda village in Bhanjanagar. The others were identified as Bapuni Nahak, 40, of Korada village; Manoj Nayak, 38; Bapi Nayak, 35, illegal firecracker unit owner Hadibandhu Sethi, 60; and Naba Sethi, 35, of Minagadia village Firecrackers and raw materials stored in the surrounding area were destroyed in the explosion.Nuagaon police station officer Rashmiranjan Sahu and his team have launched an investigation. The incident is suspected to have occurred while firecrackers were being prepared for the Lankapodi festival scheduled April 7
