New Delhi, 21/4 (AO Bureau): The world’s largest vaccine manufacturer, Serum Institute of India, based in Pune, has made a big announcement regarding the cost of vaccines (Covid Vaccine Prices). On Wednesday, the company has said that the state government will get the Covishield vaccine at the rate of 400 rupees per dose. Apart from this, the cost of vaccines in private hospitals will be Rs 600 per dose. The company has decided to distribute the vaccine 50-50 percent between the state and the central government after production.
Private hospitals will have to pay a little more price
The company has informed that a 50 percent vaccine will be given to the central government. After this, 50 percent vaccine will be given to the state government and private hospitals. The Serum Institute has also exposed the prices of Kovishield. The company says that the state government will get this vaccine at the rate of Rs 400 per dose. Whereas private hospitals will have to pay 600 rupees for this.
On Wednesday, the company also discussed other vaccines including Kovishield. In a statement issued by the company, it has been said that the vaccine prices in India are low globally. During this time, examples of different vaccines are given. The company informed that the price of the American vaccine is 1500 rupees. However, the Russian and Chinese vaccines cost Rs 750 per dose. According to media reports, the CEO of Serum Institute, Adar Poonawala had earlier said that the price of Kovishield can be one thousand rupees per dose.
