New Delhi,12/10:Team India is waiting for the T20 World Cup trophy for 14 years. The matches of the tournament (T20 World Cup 2021) are starting from October 17. Former captain MS Dhoni has been made the mentor of the team. The team will take on Pakistan in the first match on October 24. Meanwhile, BCCI secretary Jay Shah told that Dhoni has not taken any kind of honorarium or money to become a mentor. India has won the T20 World Cup title for the only time in 2007.
MS Dhoni has been given this responsibility because the team has won the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy under his captaincy. Team India has not won a single ICC trophy since 2013. Jay Shah told news agency ANI, ‘MS Dhoni is not taking any honorarium to mentor the Indian team for the T20 World Cup.’ This is also Virat Kohli’s last series as a captain. Kohli has already announced that he will step down from the captaincy of the T20 team after the T20 World Cup. In such a situation, they will also put their full strength in this tournament. Kohli has also left the captaincy of RCB from IPL.
