New Delhi. 16/1:The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted severe cold in isolated parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in the next two days. According to a statement issued by the IMD, during the next 24 hours, dense to very dense fog will occur at night and morning at isolated places over the national capital, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.Meanwhile, fog conditions were observed in various parts of North India on Sunday, leading to poor visibility in the early hours of the day in some parts of the city. A thick layer of fog affected the visibility in Lucknow, while Bhopal was covered with dense fog as Madhya Pradesh is currently in the grip of cold wave. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the visibility decreased to 1000 meters in Palam area of Delhi at 8:30 am.The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms with possibility of lightning at isolated places over Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh on January 16, while on January 19 and 20, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, There is a possibility of light or moderate rain in Mizoram and Tripura.
