On this, Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group, got excited and said that he is very happy to contribute in turning the history of India. Anand Mahindra’s company had bought a small stake in the East India Company about a decade ago.
Actually, Anand Mahindra was replying to a viral Twitter thread about the East India Company that once ruled India and which became synonymous with British colonialism. Time turned and it was bought by Indian-origin businessman Sanjeev Mehta decades after independence. Mahindra Group later bought a small stake in this company.
