Goa, 22/2: Political excitement has intensified in Goa before the results of the assembly elections are out. There is speculation that no party will get an absolute majority here this time. Therefore, from now on, the leaders of Congress and BJP have started making contact to bring independent candidates to their side. There are total 40 seats in the Goa Legislative Assembly. That is, to form the government, any party needs 21 seats here. The results will come on March 10.
However, at present, both BJP and Congress are claiming their victory in front of the media. Talking to the English newspaper New Indian Express, Goa Congress unit president Girish Chodankar has said, ‘We are confident of getting the maximum number of seats. We have got very good response from our candidates as well. The people of Goa have voted in favor of change. If we are short of numbers, we will definitely take the help of like-minded and secular winners.
