Tata Steel Holds Dental Check-up Camp at Joda ~477 students screened

Joda, : As part of Tata Volunteering Week observation, a two-day dental check-up camp was organised by Tata Steel at four schools including two Residential Bridge Course (RBC) schools on Wednesday in Joda.

At RBC Boys’ and Girls’ schools, a total of 197 students were screened by dentist Dr. Amit Ambuj of Tata Steel Hospital, Joda.  Similarly, in the camp organised at Joda Hindi UPME school and Joda East Govt School, 280 students were checked by the medical team.

Of the 477 students screened, 90 were identified as having critical dental problems and were advised for further dental treatment.

In the camp, awareness sessions were also organised for maintaining oral hygiene. During interactive session, students too asked various questions on dental problems frequently faced by them. On the occasion, Dr Ambuj explained the importance of oral health and ways to maintain oral hygiene to students as well as teachers.

The camp was organised as part of the 18th edition of the Tata Volunteering Week. It is organised biannually (March and September) as a series of half-a-day volunteering opportunities curated by the Tata companies where their employees contribute to the society through volunteering.
