A road accident took place in Banpur police station area of Khordha district, in which a youth lost his life. According to information, Hemant Swain (28) of Sana Hantuada village was returning home with Ganesh Paikray on his bike after work from Odgaon this morning, when a pick-up van hit Hemant’s bike from the rear on the Odgaon-Banpur road. Hemant died on the spot as both of them fell down from the bike. When the injured Ganesh was rescued by local people and sent to Banpur Medical , there was a commotion at the scene. On the complaint of the deceased Hemant’s father, Rabindra Swain, the police registered a case vide Case No. 490/22 and while the investigation is continuing, IIC Jayaprakash Parida informed that the driver who caused the accident has absconded from the spot .
