Mumbai, 15/12: Amid backlash about the song ‘Besharam Rang’ from his upcoming movie ‘Pathaan’ by saffron outfits like VHP and Sri Ram Sene, actor Shah Rukh Khan said no matter what, people like us will stay positive.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Kolkata Film Festival, Khan said, “Social media is often driven by certain narrowness, making it divisive and destructive. Cinema brings to the fore humanity’s immense capacity for compassion, unity and brotherhood.”
“Cinema is best place to sustain a counter-narrative that speaks to larger nature of humankind. Cinema is a vehicle for people of different colours, castes and religions to better understand each other,” the actor added.
