Chilka, 29/3:As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and create Maritime & Coastal Awareness programme, a Car Rally was Flagged off by Adm R Hari Kumar, PVSM, AVSM,VSM, ADC, Chief of the Naval Staff in presence of Mrs Kala Hari Kumar, President NWWA and VAdm MA Hampiholi, PVSM,AVSM, NM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Naval Command & Mrs Madhumati Hampiholi, President NWWA (Southern Region) and Commanding Officer INS Chilka on this morning.
The expedition which was flagged off from INS Netaji Subhas, Kolkata is planned to terminate at Lakhpat, Gujarat covering total distance of more than 7000kms. A total 180 Naval Personnel participated in the Car Rally including 20 Agniveers who passed out yesterday from INS Chilka.
The expedition was aimed at creating awareness about Indian Maritime History & issues, Coastal awareness, showcase Nari Shakti, enlighten youth about career and life ahead with Agnipath Scheme , reach out to Naval Veterans & Veeri Naris and social outreach programme by Naval Wellness & Welfare Association.
As part of outreach programme, the expedition along with members of NWWA, Chilka 100 Kgs of Dry Ration for the children.
