Chilika, 10/12: A transgender person reportedly committed suicide in Balugaon. It seems that Arati Das (21), who lives in KK Nuagaon Road,Balugaon committed suicide by tying a cloth around her neck this morning .
As per the police information, Arati’s village is in S. Chachina area of Beguniapada police station of Ganjam district. She came to Balugaon less than two months ago and lived in a rented house in the area. However, since she did not open the door this morning, the owner of the house informed her family .
Later, in the presence of the executive magistrate, the police seized Arati’s body and started an investigation. However, before committing suicide, Arati cut her hand with a blade, police said. The police have registered a ud case and are continuing the investigation.
