The Department of Mechanical Engineering at GIET University, Gunupur, is hosting a two-day National Conference on Sustainable Engineering, Technology, and Management (NSETM-2024). The conference, held in a hybrid mode, commenced on April 29th and will continue on April 30th.
The Convener, Dr. Kali Charan Rath, Assistant HoD of the Mechanical Engineering Department at GIET University, delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the conference proceedings.
In the inaugural ceremony, the chief guest, Prof. (Dr.) Dr. M. Palaninatha Raja, Principal In-charge of Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE), Madurai, India, delivered an elaborate talk on “Engineering Solutions for a Sustainable World” emphasizing the importance of skill up-gradation and its potential applications across various domains in the field of Engineering.
Esteemed dignitaries such as Dr. K Ramji from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Dr. Neigapula Venkata Swamy Naidu from NIT-Raipur, Dr. Sumanta Panda from VSSUT, Burla, Dr. Lokanath Panda, Dr. C R Deo, Dr. Animesh Agrawal, Dr. Sivasankara Raju R, Dr. B. N. Padhi, and Dr. L.P. Panda graced the event with their presence, adding depth to the discussions with their insights.
Dr. Satya Prakash Panda, President of GIET University, along with Dr. Chandra Dhwaj Panda, Vice President, Dr. Jagadish Panda, Director General, Dr. AVNL Sharma, Vice Chancellor, and Dr. N. V. Jagannadha Rao, Registrar of GIET University, conveyed their best regards. Dr. A. B. Srinivasa Rao, HoD-cum-Dean SoET, highlighted the significance of the conference.
Each speaker shared valuable insights into the advancement of Sustainable Engineering, technology, and Management, underscoring the need for innovation and collaboration in addressing global challenges.
The coordination of the event was overseen by faculty members, student volunteers, and technical staff members of the department under the guidance of Mr. Gopal Krushna Mohanty, Assistant Professor.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Conference Co-Convener, Dr. Prabina Kumar Patnaik, Associate Professor from the Mechanical Engineering Department, expressing gratitude to all participants and attendees for their contributions towards making the event a success.
The National Conference on Sustainable Engineering, Technology, and Management aims to foster dialogue and collaboration among experts in the field, paving the way for sustainable solutions to contemporary challenges.
