Gabab, 18/12: Senior India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Wednesday announced retirement from international cricket. The news comes following the third Test match against Australia.
Reacting to the news, Indian team skipper Rohit Sharma said “He was very, very sure of his decision. We should stand by what he wants,” as per PTI. Ashwin, known for his bowling, and all-round capabilities, was named ICC Cricketer of the Year and and ICC Test Cricketer of the Year in 2016. He was also given the Arjuna Award by the Government of India in 2015.
