According to the order, the petrol pump operator has been given 7 days to put up a signboard informing about the rules and regulations.According to Section 129 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and the Uttar Pradesh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1998, Rule 2019, the person sitting with the bike rider must also wear a BIS standard helmet. Violation of this rule will be punished under Section 177.Along with this, CCTVs have been installed at petrol pumps will also have to be fixed. With this, the vehicle drivers can be monitored. As a result, any dispute can be avoided later. It is worth noting that many lives are lost in road accidents every day due to traveling without a helmet. Last year, there were reports of people losing their lives in road accidents. Therefore, the UP government has started such an effort to save people from road accidents. If a petrol pump comes without a helmet, bike riders will not be able to get petrol. As a result, riders will be forced to bring helmets.
