In a tragic incident, as many as 100 workers have died in an illegal gold mine in South Africa. The workers, who were trapped in the mine for several months, have died of starvation. Around 100 workers were trapped in a gold mine in Buffelsfontein, near the city of Stellenbosch in South Africa. According to reports, the cause of death has been revealed after they were pulled out. Information has been obtained from a video recorded on the mobile phone of a worker involved in the incident. According to the Mining Affected Communities United in Action group, 26 workers have been pulled out alive so far in the rescue operation. The bodies of 18 workers have been brought out. The mine is so deep that another 500 workers are believed to be trapped. The depth of the mine is 2.5 km. There was a clash between the workers and the police when the police tried to seal the mine. The workers did not come out for fear of arrest. The police removed the ropes that had fallen into the mine, due to which they could not come out. However, the postmortem report revealed that the cause of death in the gold mine in South Africa was starvation. The workers died due to lack of food and water supply in the mine. In such a situation, the death of the workers has raised many questions about the safety and management of the mine. It is worth noting that illegal mining is a common problem in South Africa. Large companies abandon the mines, thinking them useless. Locals dig there in the hope of finding gold. As a result, their lives are lost due to such nonsense.
