BLOOD DONATION CAMP ORGANIZED BY DAV DERA ON THE OCCASION OF NETAJI AND VEER SURENDRA SAI JAYANTI

On the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Veer Surendra Sai Jayanti, a
Blood Donation Camp was organised by DAV Dera today.The camp was conducted
with the support of District Blood Bank, Angul and the participants were encouraged
to donate blood to save the lives of some needy patients. The event was organised
with a view to spread awareness about the importance of blood donation and to
encourage people to follow the footsteps of selfless service enunciated by Netaji.
The General Manager, MCL, Jagannath Area, and Chairman LMC Shri Ashok
Kumar Dhal joined as the Chief Guest. Along with him some other dignitaries of
MCL also joined. The Chief Guest and the other dignitaries highly lauded the noble
initiative undertaken by the Principal and staff members of the school . Besides, the
Principals of the neighbouring DAV schools were also present to encourage the
voluntary blood donors. The Principal of the school, Mrs Shukla Chakraborty
focussed light on the necessity and importance of this Blood Donation Camp. The
NCC, Scouts and Guide and Red Cross students of the school participated in this
program as volunteers. In this camp, nearly 111 units of blood was collected. The
teachers of the school and some parents donated blood voluntarily and made the
program a successful one. The program was managed by the Academic Supervisor
, Dr C.R Chakrabarty and the senior teacher of the school Mr Sitaram Rana.
