71 st SENIOR NATIONAL KABADDI CHAMPIONSHIP (MEN] ON 20 TH FEB 2025 AT INDOOR STADIUM, CUTTACK

Cuttack: 71 st Senior National Kabaddi Championship-2025(MEN) will be organized from
February 20th to 23rd at the historic Indoor Stadium in Cuttack by the Odisha Kabaddi
Association and with the support of Sports Department, Govt of Odisha.
The press meet was conducted at Barabati kabaddi complex, presided over by Sharat Sahu,
President of Odisha Kabaddi Association ,Chairman Mr. Ravishankar Pratihari, Acting
President of kabaddi Association Mr. Debendra Sahu, General Secretary Mr. Ajay Behera,
Vice President Shri Pruthiraj Pattnaik,Director of Ruchi Masala Mr Arbind Sahoo, Joint
secretary Mrs. Jayashree sahu, Senior Actor and Brand Ambassador of Kabaddi tournament
,Mr. Sritam Das, International Kabaddi Player and Odisha Kabaddi Team Coach Bhim Barda,
Odisha Olympic Association secretary Mr. Abhijit Pal, Kabaddi Association senior members
Gyan Ranjan Parida, Mohammad Sahid jabaar, Prashant Jena and this year's event
committee head Mr. Ullash Chandra Behura, member Satyabrat Mishra were also present.
For the first time, this Kabaddi Mahakumbah is being organized in Odisha under the
direction of Kabaddi Federation of India under which 30 states and 4 divisional teams will
participate in this competition. More than 450 talented kabaddi players from state, national
and international level will represent their teams in this senior competition while more than
50 pro kabaddi players will also participate. Apart from this, the president and secretaries of
each state kabaddi association will also attend along with the coaches of all the teams, said
Ajay Behera, secretary of the Odisha Kabaddi Association. After the great success of Junior
Kabaddi organization 2017, Odisha is going to make another milestone again, said Sritam
Das, the veteran film actor and host of the hospitality committee.
All efforts are being made to make this year's inaugural event very interesting and colorful,
said event chief Ullash Behura. On February 20th, a 2-hour inaugural and cultural program
will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The main attraction of this cultural program will be
Bollywood star and Junior Big B Shashikant Pedwal (duplicate Amitabh Bachchan) as well as
internationally renowned Thuba Fate Fighters Group and Sathman performing the dance
"Aama Asmita Amara Garba". This year's theme song will be performed by Satyajit and
Ashutosh. This year, a special March Past will be held from the Upper Balijatra Ground to
the Indoor Stadium while the National Senior Trophy will be unveiled by the organizers of all
the teams. The players of all the teams will participate in this march past. As all the
preparations for the opening ceremony are in the final stage, accommodation arrangements
for all players, coaches and secretaries have been made in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for 5
days. Anupam Goswami, Chief Executive Officer of Pro Kabaddi League and Director of
technical committee, International Kabaddi Federation, E. Prakash rao have given their
consent to be present in the event for encouraging the players
While the Sports Department of the Government of Odisha is providing all kinds of support
for the successful organization of the 71st National Senior Kabaddi Competition, all the work
is performed under the close supervision and direction of Mr. SuryasulhiSuraj,Minister of
Sports. Mr.Debendra Sahu, President of Kabaddi association expressed his gratitude to the
minister for the help.
