Panel to elect new Chief Election Commissioner meets, Congress demands postponing until SC hearing

New Delhi, 17/2: The panel comprising of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and LoP Rahul Gandhi to elect the next Chief Election Commissioner met on Monday, news agency ANI said.The current CEC Rajiv Kumar’s term ends on February 18. This meeting took place despite the Congress’ suggestion that the Centre adjourn it until a hearing on the issue by the Supreme Court, said party leader Abhishek Singhvi.
