Kalahandi: Excise Department officials unearthed a fake foreign liquor manufacturing unit in Mukhiguda village under Jayapatna block in Kalahandi district. The raid, conducted jointly by the Jayapatna and Dharmagarh Excise sleuths, seized a large quantity of counterfeit foreign liquor, labels, and manufacturing equipment. As per reports, the mastermind behind the unit, Khyama Sahu, had set up a machine in his house to produce fake foreign liquor and smuggle liquor to different parts of the state. Various brands of counterfeit liquor, labels, and manufacturing materials were seized during the raid. This illicit factory had been operating for a long time, supplying fake liquor to various areas. However, the Excise sleuths had been unable to track it down until now. The seized liquor was being sold in large quantities, earning the perpetrators lakhs of rupees. On a tip-off, Excise sleuths carried out raids on fake foreign liquor unit.
