Rs 30 lakh looted from bank in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, 2 bank employees injured

Bahalda: At least Rs 30 lakh was looted from a bank in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on Thursday. As many as two employees of the bank sustained injury while preventing the loot. The incident took place in the State Bank of India (SBI) Bahalda branch. As per reports, five miscreants came to the bank posing as customer after the bank opened today morning. All of them had worn masks. Three of the miscreants entered the bank while two others guarded outside. After entering the bank, the two miscreants threatened the employees and customers with guns and looted the money. During the loot, the bank manager and another bank employee tried to prevent the loot for which the miscreants beat up them for resisting them. After looting the money, the five miscreants fled from the scene in two bikes. The witnesses have said that the looters were communicating in Hindi. After getting information Bahalda Police reached the spot and started investigation. Also, Rairangpur Additional SP and SDPO have reached the spot and investigating the case. The 2 injured bank employees have been admitted to the hospital. Questions have been raised about how the bank was opened before the bank security guards arrived.
