Hyderabad: A 14-year-old boy class 8 student of a private school jumped to death from the school building on Saturday. The student reportedly took this drastic step after being slapped by a teacher. The student was reportedly rebuked by the Physical Education teacher in front of other students in class at around 9.30 am. He was rebuked after the boy reportedly “turned the direction” of a CCTV camera. Soon after the boy committed suicide by jumping from the school building. The student was rushed to a hospital for treatment. However, he was declared brought dead. Some students told the media that the teacher had slapped the boy. A note, purportedly written by the boy, apologising to his mother for “ending his life” was found in his book, police said. A case has been registered on charges of abetment to suicide and further investigation is underway, police said.
