Puri: The auspicious Panka Udhara Niti or Pankodhar Ekadashi of Baba Lokanath will be held on Monday. On the occasion of Ekadashi (11th day), deep cleaning of the pond will be done. Devotees in huge numbers will throng to seek blessings on Baba Lokanath. All arrangements have been made by the Puri administration. On this day, the area where the rituals and worship of Baba Lokanath is done will be deeply cleaned. Thorough cleaning of the flowers, paduka, offerings have all collected over a year in the area will be done. This is the only day on which devotees can take blessings from Baba Lokanath. It is believed that visiting the Lord on this day is equal to the darshan of lakhs of Shivalings. On the banks of Parvati Sagar, Jagara diyas are lit. Panka Udhara Niti is a very unique tradition of the Famous shrine of Baba Lokanath. Puri police have made extensive arrangements keeping in view the huge crowd of devotees. One Additional SP, 5 DSPs, 15 inspectors, 41 Sub-inspectors and ASI, 72 Habildars and constables, 82 home guards and six platoons of police force will be deployed for the law and order.
