7 miscreants barge into wedding venue with guns in Odisha’s Balangir dist, attempt to kill groom suspected

Balangir: As many as 7 miscreants barged into a wedding venue in Balangir district of Odisha with guns on Sunday night. The incident took place in the Babijor village under Deogaon police station limits in the district. As per reports, the reception party of a marriage was going on yesterday evening when 7 drunk youths barged into the venue with guns.  They shouted and searched for the groom while wielding guns at the guests. The villagers then caught the youths and informed Police. After getting information police reached the spot and took the miscreants into custody. Police have detained the drunk youths and seized the guns from their possession. Though the reason of these uninvited guests barging into the wedding venue is yet to be ascertained since they were enquiring about the groom, it has been suspected that they might have done so with an intention to kill the groom. Investigation is going on to find out who gave ‘supari’ to kill the groom.
