Bhubaneswar, 28/2: In a sad piece of news, veteran actor Uttam Mohanty, who predominantly worked in Odia cinema, passed away on Thursday in Delhi. He was 66. The legendary actor was admitted to Medanta Hospital and was being treated for liver cirrhosis.
The chief minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, called Mohanty’s death an “irreparable loss to the Odia artistic community.” He also announced that Mohanty’s last rites would be performed with full state honours.
