Bhubaneswar: The main accused Susanta Nayak in the high-profile killing on Rasulgarh over bridge was arrested by the Commissionerate Police (CP). Sahadev Nayak was killed early morning on January 8. The Police have arrested Susanta Nayak from Champeswar area under Kanapur police station limits in Cuttack district. Reportedly, he left his bike and fled the scene. After the arrest of Susanta Nayak today, CP have arrested as many as 8 accused in the Rasulgarh crime. On February 16, the Mancheswar police had arrested a woman named Rama Nayak who was instrumental in the conspiracy of Sahadev’s death. She had allegedly surrendered in front of police. The plan to kill Sahadeva in connection with drug trafficking was being planned for a long time. The murder plan was carried out in Dumuduma on Tuesday night. All the accused gathered at Sushant Nayak’s house. It was decided to take the decision on the spot. According to information, Sahadev Nayak was returning after dropping his daughter on his scooter when he was attacked with a sharp weapon. Miscreants chopped his head with sharp weapons and fled from the scene. Later, 3 persons including a woman have been arrested in this connection. The three arrested accused persons are Lipika Nayak, Laxmidhar Nayak and Rocky Nayak. The crime scene recreation of the Rasulgarh murder of was done on January 9 at the Daya River near Lingipur in Bhubaneswar of Odisha. The accused persons had hidden the crime weapons in the water of Daya River.
