IBCS CONDUCTS WORKSHOP ON ‘RECENT TRENDS IN SUSTAINABLE MARKETING’

Bhubaneswar, April 21: Views on different functional areas of marketing were
exchanged at a day-long workshop organised by the Institute of Business and Computer
Studies (IBCS), faculty of management sciences of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be
University (SOA) here, recently.
The workshop on ‘Recent Trends in Sustainable Marketing’, which served as an eye
opener for management students, scholars, academics and industry practitioners, was
attended by around 50 participants.
The inaugural session was attended by SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar
Nanda, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Anup Kumar Samantaray, Dean (Students’ Welfare)
Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das (who was also the Convenor of the workshop), Dean of IBCS, Prof.
Ayasa Kanta Mohanty and Associate Dean Prof. Manoranjan Dash.
The first technical session on the subject ‘Sustainability in Customer Services’ was
led by Mr. Bikash Kumar Mishra, Senior District Manager, Bata India, which was followed
by a talk by Ms. Nikita Mohanty, Zonal Merchandiser, Caratlane- A Titan Enterprise) on
‘Sustainability in Logistics and Supply Chain Management’.
Mr. Ritendra Nath Mitra, Senior Regional Manager, Agilus Diagnostic, spoke on the
subject ‘Sustainability in Marketing Communication.’
Prof. Bibhuti Bhushan Pradhan, SOA’s Pro-Vice Chancellor and Registrar, shared his
thoughts on recent and futuristic global trends in sustainability.
The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Rabinarayan Patnaik, Associate Professor in
the institute while Dr. Neha Gupta, Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks. An
organizing committee comprising Dr. Saraju Prasad, Dr. Alaka Samantaray, Dr. Sasmita
Pattnaik and Ms. Rita Prusty, all faculty members in marketing, conducted the program.
