80th INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED WITH PATRIOTIC FERVOUR AT IFFCO, PARADEEP UNIT

Paradeep : The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour at the IFFCO Paradeep Unit, with senior officials, employees, members of the Officers’ Association and Employees’ Union, residents of IFFCO Township, and children of IFFCO DAV Public School participating in the celebrations.

The grand ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, Shri Anirudha Vikram Singh, Unit Head, IFFCO Paradeep, followed by an impressive parade. Addressing the gathering, Shri Singh paid tribute to the countless freedom fighters whose sacrifices secured the nation’s sovereignty and freedom. He emphasized that every citizen has a responsibility to safeguard the nation’s integrity, democratic values, and unity, particularly amid the prevailing global uncertainties and evolving geopolitical scenario.

Highlighting IFFCO’s commitment to the farming community, Shri Singh said that the organisation remains steadfast in serving farmers across the country while upholding its cooperative ethos. He stated that IFFCO is not merely a fertilizer-producing organisation but a vital pillar supporting the prosperity of millions of Indian farmers, the country’s food security, and national development.

Referring to the vision of Hon’ble Chairman Shri Dileep Sanghani Ji and Managing Director Shri K. J. Patel Ji, Shri Singh said that IFFCO is committed to further strengthening its position as a leading global cooperative through technological excellence, innovation, digital transformation, energy efficiency, environmental protection, safety, and farmer-centric services. He called upon all employees to collectively translate this vision into reality.

Shri Singh also acknowledged the challenges faced by the organisation in recent months concerning the availability and supply of raw materials. He appreciated the outstanding coordination, foresight, and commitment demonstrated by the Production, Purchase, Logistics, Planning, Maintenance, and other teams in ensuring the smooth functioning of the unit despite these challenges.

Speaking on IFFCO’s environmental and energy-efficiency initiatives, Shri Singh highlighted two significant projects being implemented at the Paradeep Unit in alignment with the nation’s commitment to achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2070. These initiatives are expected to enhance energy efficiency, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and contribute to lowering carbon emissions.

He also lauded the Jyoti Ladies Club for its consistent contribution towards the welfare of underprivileged sections of society, particularly communities residing in the vicinity of the plant.

The celebration was attended by Smt Ekta Singh, First Lady of IFFCO Paradeep, senior officials with Spouse and key functionaries of IFFCO, including Shri Sushant Kumar Jena, President, IFFCO Officers’ Association; Shri Satyajit Khuntia, General Secretary, IFFCO Officers’ Association; Shri Prasanta Kumar Swain, President, IFFCO Employees’ Union; and Shri Truputi Ranjan Puhan, General Secretary, IFFCO Employees’ Union.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Bijaya Kumar Parida, Head (P&A), who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, employees, association and union representatives, township residents, students, and others for their enthusiastic participation in making the Independence Day celebration a grand success.
