Odisha To Observe ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign From August 9

Bhubaneswar: Odisha will observe the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign from August 9 to 17 as part of the Independence Day celebrations, with a series of rallies, cultural programmes and public participation events planned across the state.The campaign will be organised from the state capital to the block and panchayat levels under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The state government has also made arrangements to ensure the availability of national flags across districts.The Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department has provided Rs 10 lakh to each district for the successful implementation of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.A state-level ‘Tiranga Rally’ will be held in Bhubaneswar on August 9 in coordination with the Sports and Youth Services Department. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will attend the rally.The rally will begin at Hatiasuni Ground and proceed towards Lumbini Vihar Road. Patriotic songs and the national anthem will be performed, besides cultural programmes.Government officials, youth, members of voluntary organisations, sportspersons, students, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers, among others, will participate in the rally. Similar Tiranga rallies will also be organised at the district level.As part of the campaign, around 60 lakh national flags will be produced by women’s self-help groups under the state government’s Mission Shakti Department.The flags will be distributed across all districts to encourage people to hoist the Tricolour at their homes and participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.The state-level Partition Horrors Remembrance Day will be observed on August 14 at Jayadev Bhawan in coordination with the Odisha Sahitya Akademi. Similar programmes will be organised in all districts.The state-level event will feature a photo exhibition, short-film screening and a drama based on memories and experiences of the Partition. Families affected by the Partition will be invited to share their experiences and will be felicitated.A silent procession will also be organised at the end of the programme with the participation of guests and members of the public.The state-level Independence Day celebration will be organised on August 15 in coordination with the Information and Public Relations Department.The Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi will organise a patriotic music programme, ‘Bharatiyam’, at Rabindra Mandap. A special concert will also be held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’.Sand art, a large rangoli exhibition and a ‘Selfie with Tiranga’ booth will also be among the attractions.From August 9 to 17, citizens will be able to take selfies with the Tricolour and upload their photographs on the Har Ghar Tiranga website to obtain digital certificates.An online quiz competition will also be organised through the MyGov portal. School and college students will be encouraged to participate in the campaign and take part in the online quiz.The state government has appealed to private organisations, voluntary groups, NGOs and citizens across Odisha to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and help make the initiative a success.
