Nayagada: A girl student died allegedly after being administered a wrong injection by a doctor at Bhapur Community Health Centre (CHC) in Nayagada district of Odisha today.As claimed by Gopal Behera, the father of the deceased girl- Santoshi Behera- she was suffering from common fever since yesterday. As her health condition did not improve, her family members rushed her to the Bhapur Community Health Centre this morning for treatment.After examining Santoshi, the doctor who attended her reportedly administered her an injection. Unfortunately, she breathed her last sometime after being administered the injection.Following, Santoshi’s death her family members created a ruckus on the hospital alleging that she was given wrong injection and died due to the negligence of the doctor.Soon, tension prevailed on the premises of the hospital as many people including the locals joined the family members in protesting the girl’s death due to alleged medical negligence. Following this, the doctor fled the hospital out of fear.On being informed, a team of cops from the Fategarh police station reached the hospital and started an investigation into the matter. Currently, they are in a discussion with the protesters to bring the situation under control.
