Police have arrested the main accused in the Guhiraghat firing case under Maradugochha Gram Panchayat, which reportedly stemmed from past enmity and illegal ganja smuggling.According to police sources, the incident occurred on August 16 evening, when Suradeep Sahu of Guhiraghat village sustained a bullet injury on the left side of his abdomen and is currently undergoing treatment.Acting on intelligence inputs, Tarva Police conducted a surprise raid led by IIC Dolamani Naik, assisted by SI Prasannajit Behera, ASI Nirupama Swain, Bibhunendra Baral, Shatrughan Meher, and Kabiraj Kanhara. The team successfully arrested Khushi Ram Bhoi (alias Hari), the prime accused, from Jhadapal jungle.During the operation, police seized a country‑made pistol and one live bullet hidden behind the accused’s house near a toilet. A case has been registered at Tarva Police Station, and the accused will be produced in court today.Four others—Babisen Naik (23) of Tarva Tanalapada, Sanand Sahu (22) of Badachhapapali village under Kantamal Police Station, Sagar Mahanand (23) of Tarva Block Pada, and Dipak Sanda (20) of Titheipali village under Singhari Panchayat—have already been arrested and forwarded to court.Police sources said Khushi Ram Bhoi has a history of involvement in antisocial activities and multiple criminal cases, making his arrest a major breakthrough. The development has become a talking point across the region.
