His body was recovered today from the Ib River near OPM Ghat. As Ravi’s family has expressed suspicion that he was murdered, police have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation.
Ravi Had Been Missing Since August 26
According to information, Ravi Soni had been missing since the evening of August 26. When his family members were unable to contact him for a long period, they became worried. Subsequently, Ravi’s wife lodged a missing-person complaint at Brajrajnagar Police Station. Police registered a missing case and began a search operation.
Scooter and Slippers Found at OPM Ghat
During the search for Ravi, his scooter and slippers were found near OPM Ghat on the Ib River. This led to suspicion that he might have gone towards the river. After being informed, police and a rescue team from the Fire Services Department reached the ghat and began searching the river.
The search operation continued throughout the night. The police also took assistance from local sources along with the fire services team.
Body Recovered Today
During the search operation, the fire services team located Ravi’s body inside the Ib River this morning. The rescue team subsequently brought the body out of the river. It is reported that family members identified the body.
The recovery of Ravi’s body has cast a pall of gloom over his family members and acquaintances.
Murder Allegation; Case No. 185/2026 Registered
Ravi’s family has raised suspicion that he was murdered. Following a complaint at Brajrajnagar Police Station, police registered Case No. 185/2026.
Police are now investigating the incident from various angles rather than treating it merely as a missing-person case or a drowning incident.

Brajrajnagar SDPO Chintamani Pradhan said that the exact cause of the incident would become clearer after the post-mortem report is received. Police are investigating all aspects of the case. A scientific team has also been deployed at the spot.
The investigation is focusing on several questions, including the cause of death, the circumstances under which Ravi went to the river, and whether anyone else was present at the location at the time of the incident.
Awaiting Post-Mortem Report
Ravi’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination. The post-mortem report will be crucial in determining the actual cause of death. Police will proceed with the investigation based on the evidence collected from the scene, the scientific team’s report, and statements from family members.
