Bhubaneswar, 3 September 2026: The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI)–Bhubaneswar Chapter organised a Members’ Meet on the theme “MSMEs – Role of CMAs as Catalysts for Viksit Bharat” at CMA Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. More than 200 participants, including members, professionals and stakeholders, attended the programme.The Members’ Meet focused on the vital role of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in strengthening the Indian economy and contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat. Discussions highlighted how Cost and Management Accountants (CMAs) can support and transform MSMEs through expertise in cost management, financial planning, strategic decision-making, regulatory compliance and business sustainability.
The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), as the Chief Guest. CMA Chittaranjan Chattopadhyay, President, The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, attended as the Chief Patron, while CMA Damodara Mishra, Chairman, ICMAI–EIRC, was present as the Guest of Honour, along with senior CMA members of Odisha.
The technical session featured Shri Manoj Mohan Sinha, Zonal General Manager, NSIC–ZO–Bhubaneswar, and CMA Kamal Lochan Nayak, Deputy General Manager, NSIC–Bhubaneswar, who shared insights into the MSME ecosystem, emerging opportunities and challenges, and the role of professionals in facilitating MSME growth. CMA Sarat Kumar Behera, Immediate Former Chairman of the Bhubaneswar Chapter, also addressed the gathering during the technical session.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by CMA Avinash Kotni, Chairman, ICMAI–Bhubaneswar Chapter. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by CMA Soumya Ranjan Jena, Treasurer, ICMAI–Bhubaneswar Chapter.
