Kataka: A fishing trip turned tragic after two brothers were swept away in the Sapua river near Ichhapur village under Athagada police limits in Kataka district on Thursday.According to reports, the brothers, identified as Mantu Samal (35) and Pintu Samal (25), had gone to the river to catch fish when they were swept away by the current. Preliminary information suggests that the mishap occurred while the duo was in the river.Local residents rushed to the spot after learning about the incident and launched rescue efforts. With the assistance of villagers and personnel from the Fire Services department, search operations were undertaken in the river.During the operation, the body of the younger brother, Pintu Samal, was recovered from the water. However, Mantu Samal remains missing, and efforts are continuing to trace him.Police have been informed about the incident, and further investigation is underway.
