SUBARNAPUR — Sonpur police have arrested two people in a robbery incident after being beaten up with a gun and a machete and threatening to rob them. Out of the three accused, two have been arrested while the other one has not been arrested yet, according to the police. The incident occurred on Thursday, 10/09/26 at around 08.30 am. Bikash Sahu (28) of Lokapara village under Manamunda police station in Boudh district was on his way to Sonpur for work when Liman Padhi of Haradakhol Gram Panchayat Baidyanath village under Sonpur police station in Subarnapur district, Praveen Meher of Haradakhol village and Deepak Behera stopped him on the Haradakhol-Baidyanath road. The accused threatened him with a gun and a machete, beat him up, forcibly took Rs. 2500/ from him and fled from the scene. Later, i.e. on 11/09/26 at around 09.10 pm, the complainant Bikash Sahu (28) of Lokapara village under Manamunda police station in Boudh district filed a complaint with Sonpur police station. Sonepur police station case number 323/11/09/2026 Section 309(6) BNS /25/27An investigation was initiated under the Arms Act. SI R K Barik was given the responsibility of investigating this incident. During the investigation, 2 OPPO mobiles, 1 Samsung mobile, cash of Rs. 16,000 and a blue TVS Apache motorcycle (Reg. No. OD- 31L4670) were seized. In this incident, on Sunday, 20/09/2026, the accused Liman Padhi (Baidyanath) and Praveen Meher (Haradakhol) were arrested and tried in court.
