Anugola, 21st September, 2026: In a significant step towards show of support for specially-abled athlete, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) through its CSR arm Gramya Vikas Trust (GVT) have provided motorised wheelchair to one of the Odisha’s Wheelchair Cricketer and athlete from Anugola district – Sunil Kumar Sahu of Durgapur village of Chhendipada region.
The equipment was handed over in a ceremony held at the Chhendipada’s Block office, where Hon’ble MLA of Chhendipada Shri Agasti Behera presented the vehicle to Sunil Kumar Sahu in the presence of Block Development Officer of Chhendipada, Shri Arabinda Behera, GMDC’s Baitarani West Coal Project Head PP&A Shri Nagendra Mupkalwar along with other dignitaries.
Sunil have been representing Odisha in National wheelchair Cricket tournaments, organized by Wheelchair Cricket India and the differently abled Cricket Council of India and also took part in differently abled National Level Athletic Meet in the 100, 200 & 400 Mtr. Race Events. His consistent performance and dedication have brought into the spotlight as inspiring figures in the specially abled Sports Community.
Chief Guest & Hon’ble MLA, Chhendipada Shri Agasti Behera lauded a lot to GMDC-GVT, for its unique CSR initiatives.

This gesture is expected to inspire more specially abled youth across the state to take up sports and chase their dreams with confidence.
