Baripada, September 21: The final electoral roll for Mayurbhanj district was officially published on Monday under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026, in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.The final voter list for all nine Assembly constituencies of the district was released at a special meeting held in the conference hall of the District Collector’s Office under the chairmanship of Mayurbhanj Collector and District Election Officer Hemakant Sai.According to the final electoral roll, Mayurbhanj district now has a total of 18,36,822 voters, comprising 9,16,275 male voters, 9,20,482 female voters and 65 third-gender voters. Women outnumber men by 4,207 in the district.With July 1, 2026 fixed as the qualifying date, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) conducted house-to-house collection and verification of voter information from May 30 to June 28. Following the rationalisation of polling stations and identification of new polling stations on June 28, the draft electoral roll was published on July 5. Claims and objections were accepted until August 19, and all claims and objections were disposed of by September 17, following which the final electoral roll was published today.For the convenience of voters, the district’s existing 2,372 polling stations were rationalised and 352 new booths were added, taking the total number of polling stations/booths to 2,724.The constituency-wise voter figures are as follows:26-Jashipur: 2,11,336 voters — 1,05,796 male, 1,05,539 female and 1 third-gender voter.27-Saraskana: 1,94,431 voters — 97,099 male, 97,326 female and 6 third-gender voters.28-Rairangpur: 2,11,498 voters — 1,05,332 male, 1,06,163 female and 3 third-gender voters.29-Bangriposi: 2,11,611 voters — 1,05,838 male, 1,05,767 female and 6 third-gender voters.30-Karanjia: 1,89,984 voters — 94,717 male, 95,261 female and 6 third-gender voters.31-Udala: 1,96,437 voters — 97,381 male, 99,054 female and 2 third-gender voters.32-Badasahi: 1,88,032 voters — 94,353 male, 93,650 female and 29 third-gender voters.33-Baripada: 2,10,642 voters — 1,03,590 male, 1,07,047 female and 5 third-gender voters.34-Morada: 2,22,851 voters — 1,12,169 male, 1,10,675 female and 7 third-gender voters.Morada has the highest number of voters in the district, with 2,22,851 electors.Speaking on the occasion, District Election Officer and Collector Hemakant Sai said that efforts are being made to include the names of all eligible citizens in the electoral roll while removing the names of deceased and shifted voters through the prescribed procedure.
