80 Units of Blood Collected at BGU Blood Donation Camp

Bhubaneswar: A voluntary blood donation camp organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of Birla Global University (BGU), Bhubaneswar, collected 80 units of blood on
Monday. The camp was conducted in collaboration with AIIMS Bhubaneswar and Rotary Club, Bhubaneswar Metro. The initiative received 124 prospective registrations, of which 80 donors successfully donated blood after completing the prescribed medical screening and eligibility assessment. Students, faculty and staff members participated in the camp. NSS volunteers managed
registration, token distribution, screening, donation and post-donation assistance, ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme. The camp was attended by Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, Vice-Chancellor, BGU; Shri Tanmay Kumar Pattanayak, Registrar, BGU; Mr. Anil Kr. Samal, IAS (Retd.) and District Governor, Rotary District, Odisha; Rtn. Mihir Kumar Patnaik, President; Rtn. Anadi Ch. Sahu, Secretary; and Rtn. B.K. Das, Member, Rotary Club-Bhubaneswar Metro, along with BGU faculty and staff members. The camp was coordinated by Dr. Suvendu Kumar Pratihari, Assistant Professor and Chairperson, NSS Cell, BGU. The initiative aimed to promote voluntary blood donation and foster social responsibility and community service among students. The NSS Cell expressed its gratitude to the AIIMS Bhubaneswar medical team, Rotary Club representatives, donors, faculty and staff members, NSS Programme Officers and student volunteers for their support. The camp was part of the BGU NSS Cell’s ongoing community engagement and health initiatives, guided by the NSS motto, “Not Me, But You.”
