New Delhi, 28/11:In an all-party meeting called by the government on Sunday ahead of the winter session of Parliament, most opposition parties demanded discussion on the Pegasus espionage controversy, inflation and unemployment. Sources aware of the discussion in the meeting said that the opposition leaders also raised the issue of the expanded jurisdiction of the Border Security Force (BSF) in some states including West Bengal. Trinamool Congress leaders – Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Derek O’Brien – are also said to have raised the issue of disinvestment of profitable PSUs and bringing a law on Minimum Support Price.

 

Prominent opposition leaders present at the meeting, traditionally held on the eve of the start of the Parliament session, include Mallikarjun Kharge, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Anand Sharma from the Congress, TR Baalu ​​and Tiruchi Siva from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Sharad Pawar from the Nationalist Congress Party, Shiv Sena. Vinayak Raut from Samajwadi Party, Ram Gopal Yadav of Samajwadi Party, Satish Mishra from Bahujan Samaj Party, Prasanna Acharya from Biju Janata Dal and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah were involved.

 

 

Half a dozen important bills will be introduced in the winter session of Parliament

During the winter session of Parliament starting on Monday, the government is going to introduce about 30 bills, including at least half a dozen bills related to electricity, pension, financial reforms. According to the bulletin of the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the Bills related to economic and other reforms include Electricity Amendment Bill 2021, Banking Law Amendment Bill 2021, PFRDA Amendment Bill related to pension reform, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Second Amendment Bill 2021, Energy Conservation Amendment Bill 2021, Arbitration Bill 2021. , Chartered Accountants, Cost and Works Accountants, Company Secretaries Amendment Bill 2021 etc.

 

Bills to repeal three agriculture laws are listed for introduction in the Lok Sabha on the first day of the winter session. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently announced the decision to withdraw three agricultural laws and after that the Union Cabinet approved the bill to repeal these three laws.
