Food Safety department raids several ice units in Chilika 

Chilika , 7/5: With the onset of summer, the demand for various cold beverages in the market is growing exponentially. Similarly, there have been allegations of misconduct in various ice units in Khordha district. In this regard, Mr Satyajit Patel, Designated officer of the Food and Safety Department, inspected various ice units in Khordha district’s Nachuni and Balugaon areas on Saturday. A total Five ice units in the both areas were inspected. However, while all the ice has been used for freeze purposes, it does not appear to be suitable for domestic use.  Mr. Patel also inspected the premises,water sources of ice units and given strict direction to maintained proper sanitation and hygiene as per schedule 4 of fss act to all unit owners. He also randomly collected 4 no of samples including ice and water (raw water of seal ice) and sent for examination under fss act..
