Paradeep, : To create sustainable livelihood opportunities for the farmers of Chakradharpur village at Paradeep and to make them self-reliant, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wingof ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has taken various initiatives for the community. AM/NS India has provided 70 Kg of high yield paddy seedsand technical support to the farmers of Chakdharpur. It haseven trained the farmers to enhance yields from paddy at a lower investment. The farmers in Chakdharpur were provided training on soil sample collection and testing to make them understand about the mineral content in the soil, which plays a vital role in soil fertility.
Sri G Suresha, Executive Director, Odisha Asset, AM/NS India said, “The main objective of supporting farmers in our operating locations is to share knowledge on adopting the best farming practices and to create awareness on using scientific method of farming which will bring substantiable development in their lives.”
