TPSODL Organises Mega Seva Setu Camp in Ganjam to Accelerate Rooftop Solar Adoption

Berhampur, October: Bringing rooftop solar solutions closer to consumers, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) organised a Mega Seva Setu Camp at the Rushikulya Conference Hall, DRDA, Chhatrapur, Ganjam, as part of the ongoing month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The initiative focused on accelerating awareness, consumer facilitation and adoption of rooftop solar under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and the Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) Model. The Mega Seva Setu Camp was graced by Shri Krushna Chandra Nayak, Hon’ble MLA, Chhatrapur, and Shri Keerthi Vasan V., IAS, Collector and District Magistrate, Ganjam, who appreciated the initiative for bringing information, facilitation and solar solutions closer to consumers. Dignitaries from MNRE, Scientist – C Mr. Hiren Chandra Borah and Special Secretary to the Energy Department, Govt. Of Odisha, Mr. Saidutta Biplab Pradhan joined the event virtually. Chief Project Manager of REC Mr. A. Shyamprashad Rao and other officials from the REC were also present at the camp. Designed as a single-window facilitation platform, the camp brought together officials from banks, representatives of REC, empanelled solar vendors and TPSODL teams under one roof. Consumers received assistance and information on various aspects of rooftop solar adoption, including scheme benefits, eligibility, government subsidy, financing options, vendor selection, documentation, installation and the overall application process. Such integrated facilitation helps simplify the consumer journey and address queries at a single point. The camp witnessed strong participation from consumers across Ganjam, with 280 consumers registering in a single day for rooftop solar solutions under PM Surya Ghar and the ULA Model. The response reflects the growing interest among households in adopting rooftop solar as a means of accessing clean energy while reducing their dependence on conventional electricity. Ganjam has emerged as Odisha’s leading district in rooftop solar adoption, with 23,442 rooftop solar installations, according to the latest figures available with TPSODL. The district’s growing solar footprint reflects increasing consumer
