New Delhi,8/2 (AO Bureau) : After the meeting of the Working Committee (CWC) of the Congress (Congress) on Friday, there are now signs of a new controversy in the party. It has become quite clear that the leaders who had advocated for many new changes in the Congress in August last year, now a dispute has arisen about the voting or nominations for electing members of the Central Election Committee.
According to the report published in the Hindustan Times, in a letter to Sonia Gandhi last year, the leaders who demanded changes in the Congress also demanded that the party needs a full-time and effective leadership. Now some such people of the party have confirmed that the election framework has been accepted to appoint the Congress President and the members of the Central Election Committee. But when there was a demand for the election of the CEC members, the result was a feud.
According to people, the demand for holding CEC elections was held in the Rajya Sabha by Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma, and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram. However, Chidambaram is not among those leaders who wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi. But he is in support of CEC elections. He says that the CEC member should go to the election in the same way as the electoral college process for the election of the President.
