Kathmandu, 20/12 (AO Bureau): The Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli has decided to dissolve the Nepal parliament. He has taken this decision by calling a cabinet meeting. After this, Prime Minister Oli reached Sheetal Niwas to meet the President. He recommended the dissolution of Parliament to the President of Nepal. Now the President will take a final decision on the dissolution of Parliament.
No provision for dissolution of Parliament in the constitution
Interestingly, there is no provision in the Constitution of Nepal to dissolve the House. In such a situation, other political parties can also challenge this decision of the government in court. It remains to be seen whether the President of Nepal gives a decision on this unconstitutional advice of the Oli government.
Nepali Congress had made these allegations…
This political development has come to light in Nepal when recently the Nepali Congress alleged that the Oli government is openly supporting the monarchists in the country. Nepal’s main opposition party, the Nepali Congress, alleged that the KP Sharma Oli government is supporting pro-monarchy rallies strategically in various parts of the country. In these rallies, there was a demand to restore the constitutional monarchy and re-establish the country as a Hindu nation.
