Lord Jagannath graces devotees in ‘Bankachuda Besha’ on 2nd day of Panchuka at PuriSrimandir

On Panchuka’s second day, Lord Jagannath donned the Bankachuda Besha at Puri Srimandir. Devotees thronged for darshan on Kartika Sukla Dwadashi. Echoes of ‘Jai Jagannath’ reverberated in Puri. On the second day of Panchuka, Lord Jagannath graced his devotees in the Bankachuda Besha at Puri Srimandir. The divine darshan, which took place on the auspicious occasion of Kartika Sukla Dwadashi, saw the deities seated on the Ratna Singhasana adorned in the Bankachuda Besha.Devotees from various regions gathered around the temple to witness the sacred sight. The Bada Danda in Puri echoed with the chants of “Hari Bol” and “Jai Jagannath,” as a large crowd patiently waited in long queues for a glimpse of the sibling deities.The last five days of the holy Odia month of Kartika are celebrated as Panchuka, a period that began on Tuesday.During these five days, the sibling deities adorn five different Besha (attire) to bless their devotees. On the first day of Panchuka, also known as Bada Ekadashi, Lord Jagannath is dressed in the Laxmi Narayan Besha. On the second day, as seen today, the deities are in Bankachuda Besha. The third day, Trayodashi, witnesses the Tribikrama Besha, followed by the Laxmi Narasimha Besha on Chaturdashi, the fourth day. The Rajarajeshwar Besha is worn on the final day of Panchuka, Kartika Purnima.A devotee shared, “We are filled with joy after being able to get darshan of the Lord. We were blessed with the Lord’s grace and did not face any difficulty during darshan.” “The Lord is ever graceful, and I was able to get darshan of the sibling deities yesterday and is again on my way to have darshan today. I pray the Lord to heal all pain,” said another devotee.Many other devotees also expressed their happiness at having the darshan of Mahaprabhu.
